On this page you can download a trial version of SSC Serv 3, the current version of the system statistics collection service. The trial version does not include all features of the full version. Please read the section Limitations below.

License
A worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, license to install and use the Free Edition of SSC Serv on an unlimited number of computer systems is hereby granted. Modification of the installer package and any file installed by the installer package is not permitted.
The Free Edition of SSC Serv is provided as a preview of the full version in the hope that it will be useful. It is provided free of charge and without any warranty (to the extend permitted by applicable law). This version of SSC Serv may not be appropriate for production use!
Installation instructions
Installation is really easy and straight forward. Follow these simple steps and you'll be up and running in no time.
- Download and start the installer package.
- Chose a destination directory. It is recommended that you install SSC Serv on the main system
partition, usually
C:\. - Click "Next" to proceed with the installation.
- After the files have been copied and the service has been registered, the installer will offer to run the configuration tool. You should do this because this will start the service. Alternatively, you can go to the Control Panel and open the SSC Serv configuration applet from there.
- SSC Serv's configuration window will open. Make any changes appropriate for your system. In particular, the automatically determined hostname may not be consistent with the rest of your collectd setup.
- When you click on "Ok", the installer will inform you that SSC Serv is currently not running and prompt to start it. Select "Yes".
- Clean up the files you downloaded – they are not needed anymore.
- Tend to your collectd server or Librato dashboard and watch the data coming in.
Limitations
The free version available from this page differs in several aspects from the version available to out customers. The following lists the limitations the commercial version does not have:
- Fixed interval: The data collection interval of the Free Edition is fixed at five minutes (300 seconds). In the full version, you can configure the interval to be much shorter, e.g. 10 seconds.
- Only one: In the Free Edition, plug-ins like Generic PDH and Graphite, limit the number of elements in their configuration to one – one counter, one destination, one service … In the Full Version, an unlimited number of elements can be configured.
- Ignore lists: The feature to ignore certain disks, partitions and/or network interfaces has been disabled.
